BOOK BLITZ: The Price of Payback By S.W. Andersen

The Price of Payback
By S.W. Andersen
Genre: LBGT Fiction, Western Romance

Book Description

One year has passed since Sarah Sawyer avenged the death of her parents in a quest that nearly cost her life. Now the gunslinger is living a life she never imagined. No longer roaming the trails alone, she and Jo Porter, the woman she loves, live in relative peace, working a thriving farm of their own.

But payback comes with a price.

The lingering fear of unsettled debts haunts them both, threatening their newfound peace. When ghosts from the past come to collect, Sarah risks losing herself to the darkness she’d fought so hard to escape.

Can she pull herself back from the depths or will the harsh world of the old west finally break her?

S.W. Andersen delivers more action and romance in the thrilling sequel to Somewhere Between Love and Justice.

Author Bio

Having been raised by her mother, a strong female character in her own right, she has always been attracted to stories that depicted independent, determined, capable women. She has spent a large part of her life around horses and rodeos and has always had an affinity for the cowgirl lifestyle. Her love of the mountains, westerns and stories involving strong female characters were the driving forces behind her first story. When she isn’t working, she enjoys outdoor activities and traveling with her wife, Dianna. They share their ten acres in rural Florida with a rambunctious crew of two dogs, four cats and two horses.

This is the second novel by S.W. Andersen. Her first, "Somewhere Between Love and Justice," received such rave reviews as "A Riveting Read" and "UNPUTDOWNBLE."

BOOK BLITZ: A Single Light by Patricia Leslie

A Single Light
by Patricia Leslie

Australian author Patricia Leslie has captured the rustic beauty and the unknown adventures of southern Sydney in her latest urban fantasy, A Single Light.

When Rick Hendry is contacted by a federal agent to help investigate a growing number of mysterious vanishings across Australia, he finds himself immersed in a world where normal is a very narrow view of reality. The two men are joined by a doctor, an archeologist, a journalist, and an Afflür Hunter.

They soon discover that in the bush, south of Sydney, among the beach goers, walkers and picnickers, a menace grows. The mysterious Bledray monsters are preparing for a Gathering; a feast of epic proportions. Only the Afflür Hunter and Guardians can stop them,
but their strength is failing and humans are needed to help prevent a second holocaust.

A Single Light is an urban fantasy tale of ghoulish monsters and  non-human protectors battling to save humanity amid the spectacular and rugged landscapes of the Royal National Park south of Sydney.

BOOK SPOTLIGHT & REVIEW: Wytchfire By Michael Meyerhofer

Wytchfire
By Michael Meyerhofer
Genre: Fantasy
Publisher: Red Adept Publishing

Book Description

In a land haunted by the legacy of dead dragons, Rowen Locke has been many things: orphan, gravedigger, mercenary. All he ever wanted was to become a Knight of Crane and wield a kingsteel sword against the kind of grown horrors his childhood knows all too well.
But that dream crumbled—replaced by a new nightmare.

War is overrunning the realms, an unprecedented duel of desire and revenge, steel and sorcery. And for one disgraced man who would be a knight, in a world where no one is blameless, the time has come to decide which side he’s on.

My Review:

Michael Meyerhofer has built a fantastical realm with his descriptive imagery, impressive dialogue, and motley characters. Wytchfire contains the common fantasy elements of swords and sorcery. The content though is written in a more elaborate and emotional way than most.

Rowen is a simple man who is on a journey in a war-torn world. He uses both intellectual and physical skills to fight his way through a treacherous period. The battle scenes are vivid and sharp. The author includes plenty of surprises to keep the interest there. I’m ready for book two. I highly recommend Wytchfire and give it 5 stars.

Probably due to his father’s influence, he developed a fondness for Star Trek, weight lifting, and collecting medieval weapons.
